Youm-e-Takbeer celebrated at NIFA

 

On Friday (May 28), Youm-e-Takbeer was observed at NIFA to commemorate the conduction of nuclear tests on the very day, in 1998, making Pakistan the first Muslim and the 7th nuclear country in the world. The celebrations started with flag hosting and playing of national anthem followed by a graceful ceremony presided over by Director NIFA and attended by all the NIFA employees. A special message by Dr. Ishfaq Ahmad, Ex. Chairman Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, was read out at the occasion. It was followed by award distribution ceremony to honour the best performing scientists/staff.  NIFA performance Gold Medal was awarded to Dr. Abid Farid, Principal Scientist. Amongst the staff cash prize and merit certificates were granted to Mr. Zakirullah and Mr. Riasat Ali. At the end, Director NIFA, Dr. Farooq-e-Azam in his address paid a special tribute to the scientists and professionals who contributed towards Pakistan’s nuclear and missile programme. He pledged to make Pakistan stronger and prosperous in the field of food and agriculture.
